Yoga
Anne-Alex Packard
Registered Yoga Teacher

Anne-Alex Packard, owner of Laughing Yogi, is a Registered Yoga Teacher who has an extensive background as a choreographer/performer/movement educator. Her work has been presented throughout the U.S. and in China and Israel. She was a dance/theater professor at Connecticut College and University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has directed dance companies in Denver and Baltimore. She has studied structural kinesiology, dance and sports medicine, and body therapies, including Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Body/Mind Centering, Laban/Bartenieff Fundamentals, and Trager ®. Anne-Alex teaches traditional Hatha, Kripalu, Astanga, and Kundalini yoga.

Her teaching style is spiritual, grounded, serious and fun, all at the same time. She feels that a yoga class must be a vibrant, co-creative, inclusive sanctuary where accepting one’s perfection is a community goal. “Together,” explains Anne-Alex, “we create an atmosphere where we can all be ourselves and like who that is.”

Her Power Flow class is energetic and incorporates a flowing sequence of yoga postures as a way to free the practitioner of pent-up stress, clear the body of toxins, and allow for deep relaxation.  It is a great way to strengthen the core and stretch muscles.  Adds Anne-Alex, “Remember, for those uninitiated, injured, not as strong, or ‘tight’ (we've heard that one before!), there are adjustments for absolutely every pose.”

Power Flow: Mondays and Thursdays @ 5:45 pm
Basic Flow: Saturdays @9:00 a.m.
